Die Krap-pulsar (PSR B0531+21) is ’n relatief jong neutronster. Dit is die middelste ster van die Krap-newel, ’n oorblyfsel van die supernovaSN 1054, wat in 1054 oor ’n groot deel van die Aarde waargeneem is.[2][3][4] Dit is in 1968 ontdek en is die eerste pulsar wat met ’n supernova verbind is.[5]
