Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly

The 14th Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh[1][2][3] is formed following the 2022 Assembly election for all 68 seats in the unicameral legislature. In December 2027, the 14th Assembly's term will come to an end.

In the 2022 elections, the Congress had gained a significant majority of 40 seats. In early 2024, the BJP won a Rajya Sabha election with the cross-voting of 6 Congress MLAs.[4] These MLAs led a rebellion against Sukhu, were disqualified and joined the BJP. However in the bypolls which followed, Congress won four seats and BJP won only two.[5]
