Aleksey Borisovich Mozgovoy[a] (Russian: Алексе́й Бори́сович Мозгово́й; Ukrainian: Олексі́й Бори́сович Мозгови́й, romanizedOleksii Borysovych Mozghovyi; 3 April 1975 – 23 May 2015) was a commander of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic in Ukraine. He was the leader of the pro-Russian Prizrak Brigade and also served as "judge" on the "People's Court", notorious for issuing controversial death sentences.[1]

He was assassinated in Donbas, with multiple theories about who was responsible circulating initially,[2] ultimately witness statements pointing at Russian forces.[3][4][5] In 2020 he was found guilty posthumously by a separatist court of a murder-for-hire of a family and crippling of a ten-year-old child.[6]
