Does Tibetan really have a voiced pharyngeal fricative? I think this is an error; the article on Standard Tibetan says it's a glottal stop [ʔ]. AlexanderKaras (talk) 14:14, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They are WRONG! It's a fricative or approximant in all the dialects which show a reflex. Look especially at reports on Amdo dialects. Matisoff made a mistake thinking it was a stop, and then confused it with the last letter in the alphabet ( 'a ), which IS a stop. Jakob37 (talk) 23:19, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One might imagine how it could be mistakenly thought to be a native part of the language as a mistranscribed and (maybe mispronounced) Sanskrit semivowel borrowing.  :^) :^) Xeltifon (talk) 23:49, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
