The Jervis Bay Nuclear Power Plant was a proposed nuclear power reactor in the Jervis Bay Territory on the South Coast of the state of New South Wales, Australia. It would have been Australia's first nuclear power station, and is the only proposal to have received serious consideration by governments as of May 2023. Some environmental studies and site works were completed, and two rounds of tenders were called and evaluated, but ultimately, the Australian Government decided not to proceed with the project, owing to the cost, and to the development of newly-discovered mineral and hydrocarbon resources.
