The Khvalynsk culture[a] is a Middle Copper Age Eneolithic culture (c. 4,900 – 3,500 BC) of the middle Volga region.[1] It takes its name from Khvalynsk in Saratov Oblast.[citation needed] It was preceded by the Early Eneolithic Samara culture.[2]
