Laura Wegener Parfrey is a Canadian bioscientist, focusing on microbial ecology. As of 2014[update], she is a Canada Research Chair in Protist Ecology at the University of British Columbia.[2]
Her work has two distinct strands:[1] the microbial ecology of the mammalian gut[3][4][5][6] and coastal microbial ecosystems.[7][8]
