Leyte (IPA: ['lɛɪte]), officially the Municipality of Leyte (Waray: Bungto han Leyte; Tagalog: Bayan ng Leyte), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 40,397 people.[3]
