Rod Payne (born June 14, 1974) is an American former professional football player who was a center for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL).^[1] He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines from 1993 to 1996, earning first-team All-American honors in 1996. He was selected by the Bengals in the third round of the 1997 NFL draft. He won a Super Bowl with the 2000 Baltimore Ravens. He became a high school football coach and was named the 2007 South Florida Sun-Sentinel Class 3A-2A-1A Coach of the Year.^[2] In March 2009, Payne was announced as the defensive line coach for Florida Atlantic University. After leaving Florida Atlantic, Payne was named the head football coach at Spanish River Community High School in Boca Raton, Florida. Payne stepped down from his position at Spanish River after going 0–10 in one season.^[3] He is now a personal fitness trainer at The Facility for Personal Training in Boca Raton.
