Parameters and options

This can also be used to provide more information, such as when an old essay has been replaced by something more important:

To include a shortcut, add a "shortcut" parameter.

To include the date when the page was superseded, use |date= a.k.a. |since= a.k.a. |asof= a.k.a. |last=, using any sane date format:

or

or
{{superseded|Wikipedia:Notability|asof=October 25, 2008}}
etc. All of these examples generate:
