Tuanigamanuolepola Donny Tagovailoa[1] (/ˌtʌŋoʊvaɪˈloʊə/ Tung-oh-vy-LOW-uh;[2] born March 2, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, winning a national championship in 2017, and named the Offensive MVP of the national championship game as a freshman. As a sophomore, Tagovailoa won the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award in 2018, earning a 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship appearance.
His junior season was cut short by a hip injury, after the season he was selected fifth overall by the Dolphins in the 2020 NFL draft.
