Welcome to Wikipedia! I think you'll find it a fun project to work on. As you can see, our Buddhism articles need quite a bit of work, so a Theravada monk-in-training is most welcome (several monks in to South Korea tried to recruit me, but I thought my Anglicanism would get in the way. :). If you need any help, check out Wikipedia:Help and the FAQs. If you need to ask a question, drop by the Wikipedia:Village pump. Cheers! -- Stephen Gilbert 01:28 Mar 17, 2003 (UTC)
Hello there, welcome to the 'pedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you need pointers on how we title pages visit Wikipedia:Naming conventions or how to format them visit our manual of style. If you have any other questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump. Cheers! --maveric149

Thanks for your work on Bodhi. It's good to see the improvement :)
Could you explain one of the phrases you use? What does 'when all karma has been burnt.' mean? I have very little knowledge of Buddhism so the phrase is unclear to me.

Use the Move this page feature to change an article title. Cutting and pasting the content leaves the edit history behind, which is bad. Mkweise 01:18 22 May 2003 (UTC)
Hi, Usedbook. See User talk:Mkweise and Wilkipedia:Village Pump for the details, but I've moved Theravada around, and plan to do the others in a few hours, so long as there are no objections to it. Hope that helps. Tannin 03:37 22 May 2003 (UTC)
Hi! Sorry for the delay, I've been out of town and away from the computer. The move in Pali canon sounds like a good idea to me; I'm really not very knowledgable on the subject, and was basing my earlier redirects solely on information I found in the articles as they stood when I first read them. Greetings, and sorry for the late reply‹I had been spending way too much time on Wikipedia and had to go cold turkey for a while. The nicest images I've seen are at [1], but unfortunately those are subject to copyright. I ended up just using google image searches to find images that can resonably be assumed to be unencumbered by copyrights. Mkweise

Welcome. Please review Wikipedia:WikiProject_Islam and help remove the bias that has built up here due to lack of Muslim help editing. Please also recruit scholars and fellow Muslims to ensure scholarly accuracy. Perhaps we must all re-read The Muqadimmah! - an anonymous Asharite
Your comments on editing pages are noted. I was aware I do this and having been trying to minimise edits, but it seems to something a personal style, so it will be difficult. I've only just started editing Wikipedia so it is part of the learning curve I would imagine.
Also is it so much of a problem? If you view page history you can compare all my edits as a whole against the last version by someone else. :ChrisG 12:00, 30 Oct 2003 (UTC)
Hello. You asserted that archaeologists know nothing of the Qu'ran as it is not within the scope of their work. This is untrue, as the search for and examination of manuscripts is of course a significant part of archaeology with cultures which possess writing, like Arabia of 1500 years ago. Are you familiar with the excellent article on Qu'ranic paleography which appeared in the Atlantic Monthy a couple of years ago? It dealt with the discovery of some Qu'ranic manuscripts in, I believe, Yemen which differ noticably from the redaction with which Muslims are acquainted with today. Kricxjo 02:17, 4 Nov 2003 (UTC)
I just wanted to tell you how happy I was to see that the entry on "Hinayana" discussed the fact that the term is a pejorative. It is always irritating to see people unknowingly adopt partisan language in academic discussions. So, thanks. Patrick Grey Anderson 22:31, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Usedbook, you have been very annoying with your Mani prophet. "The last prophet" or "The seal of prophets" never refers to anyone other than Muhammad. Please refrain yourself from editing this pages unless you are 100% sure and confident about your knowledge about the issue. Please consult with other users to enhance your knowledge. --Hiwamy 18:55, 20 May 2004 (UTC)
