The Vale of York is an area of flat land in the northeast of England. The vale is a major agricultural area and serves as the main north–south transport corridor for Northern England.

The Vale of York is a broad area of flat land in northeast England. Common misconception extends its borders from the River Tees in the north to the Humber Estuary in the south. However, the true Vale of York occupies the central portion of this region. The Vale of Mowbray lies to its north, and the Humberhead Levels border it to the south. York lies in the middle of the area.
