The Lego Movie, a 2014 animated adventure comedy film written and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (both pictured), won 39 awards from 76 nominations. It received a nomination for Best Original Song ("Everything Is Awesome") at the 87th Academy Awards. The film won one of six nominations at the 42nd Annie Awards. At the 67th British Academy Film Awards, it won Best Animated Film. The film received two nominations at the 20th Critics' Choice Awards and won Best Animated Feature. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the 71st Golden Globe Awards. Various critic circles also picked The Lego Movie as the best animated feature film of the year. In addition, the National Board of Review named The Lego Movie one of the top ten films of 2014. (Full list...)

The Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album is an award presented at the Grammy Awards to recording artists for works (songs or albums) containing quality vocal performances in the "traditional" genre, referring to the body of music known as the Great American Songbook. The award was first presented to Natalie Cole (pictured) at the 34th Annual Grammy Awards (1992) for the song "Unforgettable". Tony Bennett holds the record for the most wins, with fourteen, while Barbra Streisand holds the record for the most nominations without a win, with thirteen. Various bibliographies and literature reviews have attempted to systematically cover books, chapters, articles, dissertations, and other research about the Latin poet Gaius Valerius Catullus and his poetry. Catullus's works, comprising 113 poems, have been the subjects of many books and papers in classical studies and other fields, including literary criticism, gender studies, and cultural studies; there are many critical editions, commentaries, translations and student guides of his poetry as well. Even in 1890, Max Bonnet wrote that Catullus was "inundated" with academic publications concerning his life and works. More than two thousand publications about Catullus appeared between 1959 and 2003. Denis Feeney has described Catullus 68 alone as having "legions of critics", producing a "labyrinth" of literature. The Athletes in Action/Bart Starr Award is given annually to an American football player in the National Football League (NFL) who "best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field, and in the community". The award is presented by Athletes in Action (AIA), a sports ministry associated with Cru. It is presented to the winner each year at the Super Bowl Breakfast, an NFL-sanctioned event that occurs the day before the Super Bowl. Bart Starr, the Hall of Fame former quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, partnered with AIA to present the award that bears his name. In 1989, Steve Largent, the Hall of Fame former wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, was presented with the first award during the second Super Bowl Breakfast. The most recent awardee is Minkah Fitzpatrick (pictured), a safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who received his award this year. (Full list...)

The chief commissioner of the Victoria Police is the highest-ranking police officer in the Australian state of Victoria. The chief commissioner serves as the primary liaison between Victoria Police, government agencies, and relevant government ministers, and is appointed by the governor of Victoria. The Police Regulation Act 1853 established the role of chief commissioner, which was first held by Sir William Mitchell. The chief commissioner acts as the chief executive officer and chief constable of Victoria Police, and reports to the minister for police. The longest-serving chief commissioner was Frederick Standish, who served from 3 September 1858 to 1 October 1880 for a term of 22 years and 28 days. Japanese special-effects director and filmmaker Eiji Tsuburaya worked on roughly 250 films during his five-decade career. Having pioneered and popularized the special-effects sector of the Japanese film industry, he is popularly known as the "Father of Tokusatsu". Tsuburaya started his career in the Japanese film industry as a cinematographer for several successful dramas and jidaigeki (Japanese historical drama) films in the early 1920s. Following the completion of photography on this film, he worked as the cinematographer and had his debut as the special-effects director for Princess Kaguya (1935), one of Japan's first major productions to feature special effects. In 1954, Tsuburaya directed the special effects for Hiroshi Inagaki's jidaigeki epic Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto and the Ishirō Honda kaiju film Godzilla. For the latter film, he achieved his first Japan Technical Award for Special Skill and attained international recognition. (Full list...)

The Nuovo Award is given at the Independent Games Festival (IGF), an annual event that takes place during the Game Developers Conference, one of the largest gatherings of the indie video game industry. The award is given to honor "abstract, shortform, and unconventional game development which advances the medium and the way we think about games". It was designed as a way for art games to compete with traditional indie games. In the thirteen years since its debut, 99 games have been nominated as finalists, while 79 games have been chosen as honorable mentions. Fifteen games have won the Nuovo Award, the first being the platformer Between (2009), developed by Jason Rohrer (pictured), while the most recent game to be awarded is the role-playing video game Betrayal at Club Low (2023), developed by Cosmo D. There have been 137 five-wicket hauls taken by 121 different players in Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. A T20I is an international cricket match between two teams, each having T20I status, as determined by the International Cricket Council, the sport's world governing body. A five-wicket haul refers to a bowler taking five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded as a notable achievement, especially in the Twenty20 format, as bowlers can bowl no more than four overs in an innings. The first five-wicket haul in a T20I match was taken by Pakistan's Umar Gul (pictured) while playing against New Zealand at The Oval during the 2009 ICC World Twenty20. Five bowlers have taken a five-wicket haul on T20I debut. Tanzania's Yalinde Nkanya has taken the most economical five-wicket haul with an economy rate of just 0.50.
