Kakhususan bulan Ramadan dek pamaluak agamo Islam tajalehan pado Al-Quran surek Al-Baqarah ayaik 183 nan aratinyo:

"Hai urang-urang nan bariman, diwajibkan ateh kalian bapuaso sarupo jo nan diwajibkan ateh urang-urang sabalun kalian supayo batakwa."
