Entre seus principais sucessos destacam-se as canções "Hong Kong Garden", "Happy House", "Christine", "Spellbound", "Cities in Dust", "Peek-a-Boo" e "Kiss Them for Me".

A música de Siouxsie and the Banshees foi muito influente. Bandas como Joy Division,[4] The Cure,[5] Depeche Mode,[6] The Smiths,[7] Massive Attack,[8] Radiohead,[9] e PJ Harvey,[10] os citaram como referências.

I played with the Banshees through our first tour [1979], and it allowed me to think beyond what we were doing. I wanted to have a band that does what Steve Severin and Budgie do, where they just get a bassline and the drum part and Siouxsie wails. .

They meant something. On stage that first night with the Banshees, I was blown away by how powerful I felt playing that kind of music. It was so different to what we were doing with the Cure. Before that, I'd wanted us to be like the Buzzcocks or Elvis Costello, the punk Beatles. Being a Banshee really changed my attitude to what I was doing.

She is so exciting to watch, so full of energy and human raw quality.
