Personality

Personality is a term that describes the traits a person shows most of the time.[1] These include how they think, behave, respond to emotions, and the things they like and dislike. Someone's personality may change over their lifetime, but this happens slowly over long periods of time.[2]

Understanding someone’s personality may help you predict how they will behave in many situations.[source?] This makes it possible to explain and understand people's behavior scientifically. The scientific study of personality is called personality psychology, which is part of the overall study of psychology.[3]
