Raipur is the capital city of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.[1] The state of Chhatisgarh was formed on 1 November 2000.[2] Before this, Raipur was in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

In this city, many types of rice are grown. So, this city is also called the "rice bowl of India".[3]
